When he was 7, Kashi’s leprosy was seen as a curse. As a result, he and his mother were treated like outcasts. Kashi was banned from his home and thrown out of his school. His community wanted him to leave the village.
The first ray of light for Kashi came from Christian workers at Anandaban Hospital. It was here that Kashi found treatment, healing, love… and his calling to others with leprosy.
Kashi has now worked at Anandaban Hospital for more than 28 years, caring for people affected by leprosy.
That includes patients like Kal, who lost sensation in his foot due to leprosy. So he did not feel it when a nail punctured his shoe—and his foot. A terrible ulcer was the result.
For two years, it would not heal. Kal found stigma in his own village. But under Kashi’s care at Anandaban, there was NO stigma. He cleaned and bandaged Kal’s foot with his own hands… touching a person with leprosy like Jesus did!
It’s only possible for Kashi to do this, in Jesus’ name, because of your support.
