Here's how your School Screening Blitz 5:1 gift cares for 5 TIMES as many students and teachers in Nepal:
1. $5 School 'Skin Test Screening'
Your support Doctors to screen children like Shanti for skin diseases.
If something suspicious is found, the child goes to a local health clinic for leprosy-testing.
2. Treatment & Tracing
If a child tests positive, they receive donated Multi-Drug Therapy... which cures leprosy in 12 months AND after 48 hours, they are no longer contagious!
Thanks to you, Health Workers also check 50 nearby households for others who may be infected.
3. Foot-washing
You support Health Workers who show patients how to wash their feet thoroughly and regularly.
This helps stop leprosy ulcers becoming infected and spreading poison, which can result in amputation. Because of your care, people are saved from lifelong disabilities!
4. Self-Help Groups
Families with leprosy, like Shanti's, often suffer poverty as well as stigma. You support Self-Help Groups so people can start little businesses.
Shanti's family received a goat, and breeding them for meat and milk helps families become strong and self-sufficient.
