Partner in Prayer
In the words of Wellesley Bailey, one of the founders of The Leprosy Mission, “The Mission was born and cradled in prayer, it has been brought up in prayer, it has been nourished in prayer, and prayer has been at the bottom of its success since the first moments of its life.”
The work you support wouldn’t be possible without the love, hope and healing presence of God. Your prayer can invite the presence of God into this work. As Christians, we’re gospel-focused and Christ-centred. We know we’re dependent on God to supply the many needs of people affected by leprosy. Prayer is a way you can recognise this.
If you would like to commit to praying regularly for people affected by leprosy and The Leprosy Mission, there are a number of resources that are available to assist you as you pray.
Daily Prayer Points
Daily prayer points are issued in a calendar each month. They are also updated each day on our homepage. You can have these sent directly to your inbox each month by signing up to our KIT email.

ASK Prayer Diary
The ASK Prayer Diary is an annual diary that invites you to pray for every country in The Leprosy Mission global fellowship. It’s put together every year by staff members of The Leprosy Mission International. To receive your free copy, please contact us:
National Prayer Weekend
You’re invited to participate in the annual National Prayer Weekend. It’s an opportunity to set aside some time to pray for the projects that you support. It’s held on the last weekend of August. You don’t have to go anywhere special. You don’t have to spend your whole weekend in prayer. Just pencil in some time to pray, as you are able to. You might like to do this with friends or family, or by yourself, knowing that other supporters around Australia are also praying with you. Together we can partner in prayer and make a difference.
The Leprosy Mission Prayer
Almighty Father, the giver of life and health, look mercifully on those who suffer from leprosy.
Stretch out your hand to touch and heal them as Jesus did during His earthly life.
Grant wisdom and insight to those who are seeking the prevention and cure of the disease.
Give skill and sympathy to those who minister to the patients.
Reunite the separated with their families and friends.
And inspire your people with the task set before The Leprosy Mission,
That it may never lack either the staff or the means to carry on its healing work,
In accordance with your will, and to the glory of your holy name.
We ask for this for the sake of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
