Giving Tuesday is a time to “give thanks and give back” for all the blessings and abundance God has provided over the past year.
This year, The Leprosy Mission is ramping up our participation and encouraging supporters nationally to make December 3rd 2019 – Giving ShoesDay!
On Tuesday 3rd December, gather your family, friends, colleagues and groups for a “shoe-a-thon” of giving!
Pushpa is profoundly deaf and cannot speak. Not only is this girl isolated because of her leprosy, she also couldn’t chat with the other young people in the ward at the Leprosy Mission Hospital in India.
Without protective shoes, Pushpa’s feet will become more damaged. Eventually, she won’t be able to walk, work or care for herself.
For those affected by leprosy that work in the fields, shoes help protect their feet from getting cuts and wounds that lead to debilitating ulcers.
Pushpa’s protective sandals are absolutely vital in helping protecting her feet from disabilities and potentially amputations.
You can help raise much needed funds and awareness about the importance of protective shoes for people affected by leprosy.
Wear odd or silly shoes on Giving ShoesDay (Tuesday December 3rd), take photos of your shoes and post them on social media!
Remember to add the #GivingShoesDay hashtag in your photos!
