Will you help keep Leprosy Mission Hospitals running
and continue to save lives?

The Leprosy Mission hospitals in India provide essential care to many people affected by leprosy on a daily basis.

But they are under threat. The current coronavirus crisis has really impacted their very existence.

The urgent response needed has meant that Leprosy Mission Hospitals are facing a shortfall in funds. It is essential for people affected by leprosy, that these hospitals keep going.

Without your help people affected by leprosy will have nowhere else to go.

There is a hidden crisis developing behind the scenes. Staff are taking pay cuts; the purchase of new equipment is being delayed to try and save more.

This situation is severe. Kothara Hospital is facing a shortfall of $200,000. Salur Hospital a $155,000 shortfall. We must act now to ensure we keep leprosy expertise.

We must keep hospitals open. Without your help people affected by leprosy won’t be able to get the surgery they need.

laxmi

Your kindness ensures Laxmi and others continue to receive essential care and treatment.

Your generous support will help people like Laxmi.

Laxmi has suffered so much discrimination because of leprosy. When Laxmi touched a water pipe in the village, people refused to use the water pipe ever again. They were too afraid. They thought they would get leprosy as a result.

Worse still, Laxmi faced further rejection from those closest to her. When she plucked up the courage to attend her sister-in-law’s wedding, she was beaten by a member of her own family simply because of her leprosy.

Thanks to supporters like you, Laxmi has been treated for leprosy at a Leprosy Mission Hospital. She feels love and compassion when she visits the Hospital and says: “I get better whenever I come here.”

You can be part of a team that helps to keep Leprosy Mission Hospitals open. We are all in this together.

“We are really struggling to keep our hospitals open, to keep our staff properly resourced in order to keep our essential work for leprosy-affected patients continuing…

“We are facing a funding crisis. So any help you could give we really appreciate it… We want to keep our doctors, nurses and our paramedical staff active and properly resourced so they can continue their vital work to see leprosy defeated and lives transformed.”

A message from Brent Morgan, The Leprosy Mission International Director and Board Member of The Leprosy Mission Trust India.

*note: we only have limited quantities of complimentary face masks for distribution and colours may vary. Due to shipping delays, the masks will be mailed separately from your receipt. We will send you your face mask as soon as it arrives. Thank you!
