Leave a Gift in Your Will

Every year, generous donors like you plan their future giving. When planning or updating their estate, they do this by leaving a gift in their Will.

You might have thought about this before. Maybe you’ve regularly helped people with leprosy. Maybe you’d like to honour a family member or friend by supporting people affected by leprosy and disability. Or maybe you’ve wanted to, but haven’t been able to afford it in the past.

You can make an investment for future generations by leaving a gift in your Will.

Leaving a gift in your Will

When thinking of leaving a gift in your Will, consider your family members first. But after this, people often give a part of their estate to friends or a non-profit organisation. Leaving a gift to a non-profit organisation is a good way of showing your priorities in life. It shows that you understand the needs of the world and are compassionate. The best way to make a difference is by leaving a percentage. This is called a Residual Bequest. By leaving a gift, you can ensure that you help people for many years to come, well beyond your lifetime. You can give hope for the future.

As a non-profit organisation, The Leprosy Mission’s work depends on the gifts that it receives. Without your gifts there isn’t “leprosy defeated”. Without your support there is no transformation for thousands of people affected by leprosy. Every gift to The Leprosy Mission Australia ensures that people affected by leprosy will receive healing, dignity and life in all its fullness.

If you would like to know more about leaving a gift in your Will, you can contact us for our Bequest pamphlet.

“I give the residue of my estate to The Leprosy Mission Australia of 37-39 Ellingworth Parade, Box Hill, Victoria, for its charitable purposes.  I further direct that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of The Leprosy Mission Australia for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said bequest.”
