COVID-19 has had a devastating effect for the treatment of leprosy in Nigeria. It has restricted your Leprosy Mission teams from reaching people in remote areas. Making things worse, a shortage of Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT) means people are missing out on the treatment they need.
We must act quickly right now to protect people with leprosy, like David, who are at-risk of suffering reaction and complications.
David was treated as a slave. He had to cook and clean for his ‘master’ while also selling hand-cloths. After 10 years of suffering like this, David refused and was banished, with none of the money he was owed for his work.

David was told he had an evil spirit. He was tricked by con men into being a beggar. He lost confidence in himself.
This is the injustice faced by people with untreated leprosy. This is the horror your kindness now can prevent.
