The Leprosy Mission Australia is doing everything we can to minimise any disruption to you and your support for people affected by leprosy overseas, while ensuring that our staff, volunteers, prayer partners and the Australian community are protected in relation to the spread of COVID-19.

I know this is a time of uncertainty for us all. The truth is, we had important work planned before any of us knew the extent of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and that work must continue. And people affected by leprosy and disability are often some of the most vulnerable to coronavirus and its effects. In countries such as India, COVID-19 is accelerating at a rapid pace with more than 870,000 confirmed cases (with tens of thousands of new cases every day) and this is putting a strain on Leprosy Mission hospitals and resources.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we should follow His example and reach out to people affected by leprosy who are in great need.
As always, we are thankful for your gifts. People affected by leprosy and disability certainly know what it is like to desperately need a cure, receive early detection and proper treatment. They also know what it is like to experience isolation and stigma, sometimes for years. Some, now more than ever before! Whatever you can give, you are still a vital part of this ministry.

Father, it seems to just go on and on. I am weary. I know others are too. There are millions suffering. Help them Lord. Help me. Give me persistence in prayer. Encourage my faith. Build up the faith of Christians around the world. Give hope to those with leprosy during these times. Amen.
