Praise God for healing this mum with 7 children

Petronella’s first signs of leprosy were the patches on her skin. Like so many others, she could have tried to hide her condition. She could have ended up with deformities and disabilities, even needing amputations. As a mother of seven children, this would not just affect her own life but all her children.

Instead, Petronella heard about leprosy from a Leprosy Mission health education meeting in her community. She has now been correctly diagnosed and is undergoing treatment for leprosy. As a believer in God, Petronella found peace.

“I know that God is in control so I just surrendered and went for treatment. I wasn’t afraid. I can’t complain to God that He allowed me to get this disease.”

Thank You, Lord, for bringing healing to this beautiful woman before any lasting damage occurred due to this disease. And thank you to wonderful supporters like you who have prayed and donated to help people like Petronella.

Please continue to pray now for:

• Petronella and her family members who are being screened for leprosy. Her children are free of the disease but we’re waiting on a diagnosis for her nephew who has patches on his skin. He lives in a very remote area – please pray our workers can reach him, diagnose his condition and provide treatment if needed.

• All women in Timor Leste like Petronella to have health, courage and strength and to feel God’s presence in their lives.

The Leprosy Mission seeks to bring about transformation; breaking the chains of leprosy, empowering people to attain healing, dignity, and life in all its fullness.

We are targeting a Triple Zero Leprosy strategy — Zero Leprosy Transmission, Zero Leprosy Disability, and Zero Leprosy Discrimination. We are working hard with our international project partners, and international government organisations, to make leprosy transmission a thing of the past by 2035.
