India Awareness Tour

20th September - 10th October, 2010

The Leprosy Mission invites you to participate in a three week visit to India.  Come and see the wonderful way in which the lives of individuals, families & communities are being transformed through the work of The Leprosy Mission.

Itinerary includes the cities of Delhi, Agra and Kolkata (Calcutta) and other centres in West Bengal.   See the way that people affected by leprosy are having their lives rebuilt and their hope restored.

  • Experience India as a member of a caring team.
  • Visit the Taj Mahal and the ancient city of Agra.
  • Help raise much-needed funds for the Bankura Vocational Training Centre in West Bengal.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF TEAM MEMBERS?

Each team member will need to:

  • Participate in an orientation program a few weeks prior to departure and further orientation on arrival in Delhi.
  • Undertake, upon return to Australia, to raise funds to support the Bankura VTC. It’s simple.  All you have to do is share your own story of the journey with others... you'll have lots of stories to tell!
  • Be prepared to cooperate as a team member and be responsible to the team leader.
  • Have a valid passport.
  • Ensure you are vaccinated as required by health authorities.
