Vocational training Centre students go global
The Leprosy Mission Vocational Training center, Bankura, Kolkata seems to have struck gold. Truly it’s an extraordinary achievement as 20 of its students will now be working in Russia. And by securing international employment for its trainees, Mission has proved that unrelenting hard work does fructify. Yes, it has transcended international border and with this ace up its sleeve TLM is ready to hitch its wagon to star.
Propelled by its compassionate intent TLM has successfully cashed in on the opportunities being thrown open in this liberalized world. The move has paved the way for many of its beneficiaries spread across the country. And the precedent set by it will remain to be seen as a benchmark in the social welfare arena.
Bankura VTC principal Shailesh Nathaniel who studied in Russia played a key role in making it happen. As he came to know about the vacancies abroad immediately set the process of negotiation in motion and finalized all terms and condition with the firm called IP Andreanova Valentina Fedarovna. The firm is based in Vladimir state in Russia and deals in garment production like shirts, jacket, jeans etc. After ascertaining job requirements principal has organized month-long orientation for his outgoing students of tailoring trade and even training in spoken English was given to them.
The Russia firm has agreed and already sent work permits for all 20 students. It will be paying the expenses to be incurred for translating all documents in Russian language to facilitate Visa process. The firm has given three-year working contract for each student. The annual salary of each tailor will be Rs 1lakh with food and lodging facility and its expenses will be bored by the firm. Each Student will be entitled for To-and-Fro flight tickets once in three years. The company will be giving health insurance so that Indian students can avail medical facilities at any government hospitals. Keeping in view the inclement weather the company has decided to provide warm clothing as well. And those doing extra work will get extra money.
The consent of all the students’ parents have already obtained and dispatched to the firm. Additional District Magistrate of Bankura helped a lot in obtaining passports instantaneously and soon VISA will be secured.
