Gifts of Love
Imagine… the lives you could change
For Christmas, for birthdays, or for any special occasion celebrate by giving your friends and family a life-changing ‘Gift of Love’.
For the amount that you might normally spend on a present, you can give a ‘Gift of Love‘ that will not only touch someone’s heart…but change the life of someone with leprosy. You can help them to have improved health and mobility, education or the ability for families to earn a steady income.
How it works…
We will send you a ‘Gift of Love’ card for each gift you select. These cards can be given in place of a present and show your friends and relatives the life-changing gifts you have given on their behalf, but do not mention price.
Where the money goes…
When you select a ‘Gift of Love’, you are making a tax-deductible donation to The Leprosy Mission (TLM) project of which that gift is a part. The dollar value listed for each gift is an estimation of how much this element of the project costs. Your donation funds this element, along with other vital activities of that project.
For example: selecting medicines and supplies means your $50 will help supply specialised drugs that are needed to treat leprosy reaction so that further damage does not occur. TLM often provides other basic medicine in communities where health care is absent or minimal and people cannot afford it.

Big results from small Chickens - $10 (PNG)
In PNG several chicken projects are changing people’s lives. It costs about $10 to buy a chick, feed and raise it until it is ready for sale at 8 weeks. They are then sold for $15 and the profit is used to increase the stock or given as dividends to group members to commence their own businesses.

Left undiagnosed and untreated, leprosy damages the nerve endings of feet. Without the sense of feeling, the person becomes unable to feel pain and discomfort, which leads to injury and disability. Your gift of special micro-fibre sandals with soft internal padding protects vulnerable feet in the long term.

Protect damaged eyes with Sunglasses - $20
This ‘Gift of Love’ allows TLM to provide protective sunglasses. Support For a Leprosy Care Nurse - $80 per week
When patients arrive at any of the Leprosy Mission hospitals or clinics, they are greeted by a team of staff who unconditionally care for and accept them. For some, these people become their family and friends after they’ve been rejected because of leprosy. These nurses have specialized training to treat leprosy and they’ve committed their lives to the work of the Mission.
By giving the ‘Gift of Love’ to support a leprosy care nurse, you’re providing a subsidy to cover one week of a nurse’s salary – one week of compassionate care from a truly inspiring individual.
