In developing countries where poverty is normal and breaking the cycle of poverty is a difficult fight; for those with disability or disease their fight is harder. They fall into the category of living in extreme poverty.
For those affected by leprosy it can be difficult to break through the stigma in their communities and even their families. The Leprosy Mission is helping fight extreme poverty by offering these small communities assistance through - Self care groups, Low cost housing, and Advocacy.
The Leprosy Mission is not only curing the disease and disability of leprosy, but also providing assistance to walk out of the stigma and become productive members of their community.
